For this month’s loft piece, our lead building & grounds person Victor Mistretta shares several updates on various projects underway at Earthdance this month:
Hello Earthdance community, and end of Spring greetings to all! First off, we’re digging a new well! Our neighbor Bruce Joseph has been the leading person on the ground for this project. His efforts are coming to fruition as a service road to our new well site has been built by a local contractor named Adam Higgins. The road is up the slope between Andy’s cabin and the main forest trail, where we’ve had tent platforms for years now. We are intending to make use of the first portion of the road, which is on level ground, to be developed as a tiny-home space for a few units in order to help relieve the ongoing need for staff and rental housing. Included in that area will be the site of the old yurt, which has now been almost single-handedly dismantled by our Nine Mountain neighbor and friend Ryan Smart. As well, by the end of June, our dorm will have a major service and update of the sprinkler system with a projected investment of approximately $5,000. And finally, we are happy to announce that our long awaited first solar-voltaic panel installation will be completed by the end of June. These panels are being placed on the farmhouse roofs. It is a large installation and expected to aid in our electricity bills immensely, hopefully earning us some money as well! The company doing the installation is represented by Earthdancer Petrus Slaghekke. This project, like everything at Earthdance, is the combination of many people’s years of efforts and love. Hoping this news is inspiring to you! Wishing you a wonderful dance-filled summer to come, we hope to see you sometime soon!
