Julia Handschuh

Julia Handschuh writes, moves, and makes objects; oftentimes in relation to issues of improvisation, ecology and the politics of space.  In the past 8 months her world has been a jumble of Occupy Wall Street, local food, living in the woods and falling in love.  In Western Mass she organizes around the need for radical user-driven space, makes performance for video with two women who rock her world and works as a freelance graphic designer and marketing consultant.  In other places she has recently performed with Athena Kokoronis, presented at the Earth Matter’s Conference at CMU and is on the board of iLAND.  She holds an MA in Performance Studies from NYU and BFA in Performance Art and Installation from The Museum School and Tufts University.  www.juliashoe.com
