Earthdance is an artist-run workshop, residency, and retreat center located in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts. We provide a dynamic mix of dance, somatic, and interdisciplinary arts training, with a focus on sustainable living, social justice, and community. Earthdance has been spearheading innovative arts programming and maintaining a beautiful facility for rental groups in the Pioneer Valley for three decades.

The Programming Manager is a part-time staff position, responsible for supporting all programming and marketing efforts for Earthdance to ensure optimal levels of public engagement and brand consistency. This position works closely with the Executive Director to plan and implement comprehensive, integrated programming and with the Marketing Manager to develop and support marketing strategies that ensure professional, timely, and creative communications.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advises on overall program strategy to ensure improved program and event attendance, in line with Earthdance's vision, mission, values, and strategic plan

  • Manages teacher contracts

  • Corresponds with workshop teachers to develop strategies for workshop promotion and program-specific fundraising, in line with the operational budget and program calendar

  • Supports the Marketing Manager with the design and distribution of the annual calendar and program postcards

  • Helps oversee the branding of the organization in all promotional materials

  • Helps oversee documentation and archiving for programs and events

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Two years of higher education, or the equivalent

  • Demonstrated experience with advertisement, e-marketing, and social media campaigns

  • Strong writing and copy editing skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organization

  • Demonstrated time-management skills

  • Experience managing volunteers

  • Self-motivated

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Comfort with correspondence via email and phone

  • Strong team leadership skills

  • Professional demeanor and work ethic

  • Ability to maintain positivity and composure under pressure

  • Ability to handle changes in the work environment with ease

The temporary employment period is October 28, 2019 to March 1, 2020. This is a part time temporary position @ 15-18 hours/week.
