Hilltown resident Michael Alterman will be offering an introductory course in Dragon & Tiger Chi Gung this summer at Earthdance in Plainfield. Chi gung is a form of gentle exercise that balances, harmonizes and strengthens energy flow in the body. It is related to tai chi, but is simpler and easier to learn, while providing many of the same health benefits.
Dragon & Tiger Chi Gung is one of the easiest chi gung forms for beginners to gain benefits from quickly, and is forgiving of imperfect practice. Practicing Dragon & Tiger improves balance and coordination, boosts energy and reduces stress, and with longer practice can heal chronic pain and illness.
The summer class will be offered on four Tuesday nights from 7:00 to 9:30pm. The dates are July 24 & 31 and August 14 & 28. People may attend the first class for free, but must join by the second class. It is okay to miss one of the sessions, if need be. The fee for the class is charged on an affordable $20-$55-$90 sliding scale, with no one turned away for lack of funds.
