Gopi Krishna is at Earthdance because...

I trace my bloodline from these Appalachian Hills back Tens of Thousands of years.

I've always felt my own, the Ancestors and All peoples deep desire for Earth Renewal and Re-Vitalization. The Good Friends who came to start Earthdance Community here in Plainfield, Ma. first came with Dance New England Allies to Another Place Farm Commune where we community members lived out doors all summer using Wicky-ups as our evening shelter. This mixed, mixing, contacting, improvising Cross-Cultural tribe was a part of Mettanokit Community, which is from the Wampanoag (people of the first light) language. It  means "Heart of Our Sacred Mother Earth".

Through these connections I found Contact Improvisation and it's ethos. The C.I. Form speaks to me of great possibilities for healing some of trauma's of the centuries of genocide and earth desecration which have been imposed on my people both Black and Red and on the Land itself. Contact Improvisation and it's generous ethos speak to me of the possibilities of creating right relations across the realities and illusions of difference between peoples which are exploited in our current (dying) Capitalist System. With my desire to join in with and assist friends in the evolution of C.I. and Cross-Cultural Community Building I Joined the "Original Earthdancers".  With this becoming an "Earthdancer" I've continued a traditional ethos of Ceremonial Lifestyle, also known as Right Livelihood. With friends and the Earth herself I Live this "Creative Living Project".  I see, touch and dance with the seeds of Paradise and the Beloved Community coming into being. It's my great honor to serve on the board of Earthdance. May All Beings Be Happy, May All Beings have the Causes and Conditions for Happiness, May All Beings Be Free!!!
