Nomadic College Public Events Throughout June!

The Nomadic College (NC) is an annual gathering organized by the Axis Syllabus Research Community hosting workshops, lectures, a choreographic laboratory, and jams through all of June this year at Earthdance.   Check out all the events on our calendar!

Nomadic College Performance: Somatic Scenarios

June 30, 2012 - 6:00pm - 9:00pm

Sharing of the creativity brewed in our 1 week choreographic laboratory.

Performance will be followed by a feast! and closing ceremony.

C.I. Jam Hosted by Nomadic College

June 22, 2012 - 8:30pm - 11:00pm

In addition to the monthly Earthdance Jam, the Nomadic College will host an open Jam with a facilitated warm-up.

An opportunity to learn and practice the form of Contact Improvisation. Come join us for an exciting afternoon of dancing!   

Open Level CI Class | 3:30 -5:00pm | Class only: $10
Contact Jam | 5 - 7pm |  Jam only: $8-12

Mercury Rising

Aaron Brando

Aaron Brando holds a Masters Degree in Education and loves the art of crafting pedagogy in a non-codified system such as CI. Brando teaches CI in the US and internationally. He serves on the Board of Directors for Earthdance. Brando has been instrumental in creating the event CI Ground Research which encourages the ongoing research of Contact Improvisation by dancers from around the world. Brando trained with Tom Myers at the KMI Institute and is a certified Fascial Bodywork/Structural Integration practitioner.

1st Sunday Music and Movement Jam with Robby Roiter

December 2, 2012 - 8:00pm - 10:00pm

Once a month the Umbrella Studio fills with a celebration of movement and music!  A live soundscape is provided by a local musican.  Bring your own instruments to join in after 10pm.

All dance levels and styles are welcome.

Jam: $10-$15

Amii LeGendre

Amii LeGendre lives in the Hudson Valley, NY where she teaches Contact
Improvisation at Bard College in the Dance Department; Amii is an
active member of the Earthdance and Dance New England communities.
She's been performing and teaching modern dance, improvisation, and
choreography in colleges, communities and residencies nationally for
20 years. She received her MFA from UWMilwaukee in 2011. Currently
