Beginning CI Workshop: Laying the Groundwork

with Felice Wolfzahn

March 4, 2016 - 5:00pm - March 6, 2016 - 3:00pm

This weekend introduces and lays out the fundamentals of Contact Improvisation for total beginners and those who would like to clarify and deepen their introductory skills. Through this playful movement form, we move together, conversing in a physical dialogue; communicating through the language of touch, momentum, and weight sharing. We will explore simple solo and duet skills: rolling, falling, spiraling, counter-balance, weight sharing, following a point/surface of contact, and tuning to our sensory input. Throughout the weekend, we will combine improvisational explorations with skill work in a supportive and focused environment.
