Playback Theater & Contact Improv Lab

A physical exploration of the intersection between two diverse forms

Programming category:
September 21, 2012 - 10:00am - September 23, 2012 - 3:00pm

Come join us for a juicy exploration! What is possible when we meld the two very diverse forms of Playback Theatre and Contact Improvisation dance? They have a lot in common: spontaneity, support, ensemble work, and the need for a high level of listening. The forms are also very different: Playback Theatre is a form that brings true stories to life for an audience, Contact Improvisation is a silent form full of connection and communication between the dancers. Our mission is to discover what new creations come when we connect the two forms, open ourselves even more deeply to the improvisation of life, and awaken to the possibility of developing an expressive connection that goes beyond either form on it's own. Expect to experience a playful, exciting, full, and deep workshop!

Tuition: $200/$250/$300; Room & Board: $150
