3rd Sunday Contact Jam and CI Class with Rachel Schwartz

Rachel Schwartz is an artist, herbalist, and social worker.  She was trained in classical ballet for 13 years before she found modern dance and contact improvisation, which, like all good things, simultaneously scare the daylights out of her and fill her with life.  She is the Operations Director at Earthdance, where she studies contact and performance improvisation with world renowned teachers, teaches contemporary dance and composition, and keeps the place running by bossing people around.  Rachel moved to Earthdance from Southern Maine, where she choreographed and performed with several groups, including Collective Motion Dance Company, InnerMotion Dance Ensemble, Bell and Buoy Physical Theater, and many improvisational performers.  She is fascinated by the overlap of somatic experience, therapeutic practice, art, activism, and healing of the body, mind and spirit.
