Zevey Steinitz


Zevey Steinitz is a progressive educator with over twenty years of elementary classroom teaching experience in public and independent school settings. She currently works as an educational consultant for the Western Massachusetts Writing Project and Welcoming Schools, an initiative of the Human Rights Campaign. In addition, she works part-time at Smith College, mentoring students pursuing elementary teaching licensure. She received the Cambridge Peace and Justice Award in 2000 for her work on conflict resolution. She has been a featured teacher in The Next Move Series, a teacher training video course developed and filmed by The Annenberg/CPB Channel in conjunction with Harvard University and the Smithsonian Institution. Her website is www.zeveysteinitz.com. When she is not in the classroom, Zevey is an improvisational dancer and outdoor enthusiast. She lives with her family in Haydenville, Massachusetts.
